Get Involved with AHREA...
AHREA has huge potential, but its future will depend upon the active involvement of a strong membership base. At least for the time being the success of the Association relies upon the generous enthusiasm of volunteers.
Can you help? Whether it's promoting AHREA amongst your professional contacts, helping with the organising for the first General Meeting, contributing content for the resource area, providing ideas for future events, or assisting with the various administrative tasks... any contribution will be extremely important and very much appreciated
If we all pitch in together we can ensure AHREA is a vibrant professional association that is run by, and for, the Australasian human research ethics community.
How you can get involved
1. Express an interest in joining AHREA
2. Let us know ways you would like to get involved
3. Talk to your network of professional contacts and encourage them to visit this web site
Membership of AHREA is open to anyone with an established interest in human research ethics in Australasia. Potential members include (but is not limited to): HREC members and Chairs; research managers/administrators; government/regulatory/funding officers; academic commentators on research ethics; and research participant representative bodies.
4. Start compiling resources
The Members Area of this site includes an area where links, papers, and other resources can be uploaded. The objective for this area is to provide a mechanism where members can share materials and resources. So as part of your preparation for an active involvement in AHREA, start compiling some resources to post onto the site.
5. Attend the General Meeting in October
For the moment the plan is to contact a General Meeting of AHREA during the 2007 AHEC Conference in Melbourne in October. We obviously need a large number of AHREA members to attend this important meeting.
If you have any other ideas or suggestions for the early development of AHREA contact us.
