Privacy Statement
The Australasian Human Research Ethics Association Inc (AHREA) is a registered and incorporated non-profit association.
The principal activities of AHREA are:
- Providing a forum in which members can share ideas, resources and information in relation to: the ethical conduct of human research; the governance of ethical conduct; ethical review; and research ethics training.
- Providing information to members about emergent issues, developments in guidelines and regulations, training and professional development opportunities, events, employment opportunities and other matters related to human research ethics.
- Providing training and networking opportunities for members.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of national policy, frameworks and regulations.
- Conducting research and other activities in order to enable AHREA to effectively carry out these functions.

AHREA collects personal information from members, including name, address, employer, occupation, contact details, and issues of identified interest by individual members. Depending upon the method by which a member pays their membership fee, AHREA may also collect financial information about individual members.
The identified personal information of individuals is only displayed on this web site with the direct consent of individuals (for example, each member has a range of options to determine what, if any, information about them will appear in the list in the Members Area). Only AHREA members have authorised access to the views and information that members post in the bulletin board, chat room and resource section of this site. Only the AHREA committee and/or moderators have access to the password protected area of this web site where the provided details of all members is recorded. Only the AHREA Treasurer has authorised access to the provided financial information about individual members.
